What are the best Feng Shui Colors for a Kitchen?
I
recently consulted for a couple who needed help because they were
fighting constantly. Every night they sat down for dinner, arguments and
misunderstandings ensued. When I went to their house, I entered the
home to find a kitchen painted fire engine red.
Feng Shui colors
are used to balance the chi in a space, but Feng Shui colors can also
create an imbalance. The kitchen already has a very strong fire element,
and the red walls were contributing to hot tempers and a lack of
communication.
I suggested they paint the kitchen white, with
small red accents. Within days, the couple commented that dinner was
once again pleasant. They learned how to communicate, compromise and
discuss feelings without placing blame.
The best Feng Shui
colors for a kitchen depend on the goals and desires of the people in a
house. In general, avoid black and red, except as accents. Good Feng
Shui colors for a kitchen include:
White, the color or purity, which can also promote weight loss
Yellow, to create a social atmosphere through Feng Shui colors
Beige and other earth colors
Blue, to promote weight loss
Green, to promote good digestion
