Since YouTube decided to change the embedded codes on their videos, a lot of people are having problems uploading videos to Ning sites. I understand that Ning are working on changing their programming, but until they do I thought it would help people if I posted a discussion showing how to upload videos.
Start by choosing which YouTube video you want to upload. Click on the button underneath the YouTube video to display the embedded code (so that you can copy and paste it). You will see underneath the box where the embedded code is displayed there are 3 options that appear, each with a 'tick/check' box next to it. One says 'Include related videos', the second one says 'Enable privacy-enhanced mode' and the third says 'Use old embedded code'. Check/tick the box (by left clicking on it) next to the option that says 'Use old embedded code', and you will see that the embedded code in the display box changes back to the old code that everyone is used to using.
Once you have done that, you return to the comment or discussion you were posting on here (or whichever ning site you are on). At the top of the comment/discussion box you will see that you have several options: 'Link' then an icon for 'Image' and next to that is the icon for 'Media' (its the third one in). To add a video you click on the 'Media' icon. You will see that a box then appears, in that box you paste the embedded code (the so-called 'old' embedded code from the YouTube video), then click on 'Add'. This then displays the video within your discussion, but it will display as a blank box. Dont worry, once you add your discussion, the video will appear as normal.
