As part of our ongoing commitment to provide a high level of service for all of our members, we have been re-organising our groups. As a result of this, we have made the decision to delete all inactive groups. We class a group as being inactive if there has been no activity relevant to the groups’ topic for a period of 90 days or more. (Please note that pictures and ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’ comments do not constitute relevant group activity).

We view our groups as an extension of our family, so we don’t take any pleasure in having to remove abandoned or inactive groups. However, we do not see the point in leaving groups on our site that are not being updated with relevant discussions on a regular basis. We believe that all of our groups should have fresh content posted for the group members to interact with at least twice every month. Unfortunately we have seen a pattern where people open groups and either no content is placed within the group, or the group creator puts information in the group initially, and then simply abandons the group.

Where possible, we will be asking members of these abandoned or inactive groups if anyone wishes to take over the group before we decide to delete it. Many people find managing a group to be a fulfilling and worthwhile experience, and we are hoping that more of our members will consider taking on an abandoned or inactive group and breathing fresh life into it. However, if no-one steps forward to manage these abandoned or inactive groups then a deletion date will be scheduled and all of the group members informed.  Please only step forward to manage a group if you can commit to being active within the group and you are able to post a minimum of 2 fresh discussions each month.  Otherwise we will re-schedule the group for deletion at a later date.

You will notice that we are also merging groups that are about the same topic. We are doing this as we want to make it as easy as possible for all of you to not only find all of the information that we have about a topic, but also so that members can get to know others who share the same interests.

For those of you who have set up groups that simply provide links to other websites – beware! We are currently deleting all groups that do this, as our groups are not for that purpose. Our groups are here to provide relevant support and information for our members, and a place for our members to interact with others who are interested in the same topics. If you are looking for a way to advertise another website, please look under the tab labelled ‘Advertise’ at the top of any page on our site. The information on how to advertise with us is located there. Our rates are extremely reasonable and we welcome the opportunity for you to advertise with us, in the appropriate manner.

We appreciate your support and understanding as we continue to improve our service to all of you.

a little housecleaning at the Chinese New Year is always in order lol! Good feng shui, and I commend your efforts.

besides, it took me most of last year to 'release things that no longer served me', so this sounds like it's totally in order and just what many of the blogs I read say is exactly what we're to be doing.

clutter is clutter and it feels so good when you get rid of a lot of yesterday....(as I've been doing personally)

even though I'm certain there are brilliant pieces that may disappear. it's a task that must be done. Brave of you, Good HHMT to announce what seems like a reasonable, well planned systematizing of the site.

I am currently working through all of the groups to see which ones are inactive or have been abandoned by the group creator. Once I have identified which groups are no-longer active, a message will be sent out to the group members (I am likely to be doing a few each week/fortnight). If none of the group members come forward to take over the group then the group will be deleted. In the message I will give the members of the group the date that the group will be deleted.

Please note that some groups will not be open for adoption. The groups that we will be deleting and not offering up for someone else to take over are the groups that have been set up to send members to other websites. As I have stated in the blog, our groups are not for that purpose, so any groups doing that will be deleted and not offered up for someone else to manage.

The best thing you can do is join an inactive group that you are interesting in taking over (if you are not a member already), and then contact me when I send a message to the group. Alternatively, you can send me a message and let me know if there is a particular group that you are interested in managing, and I can let you know if it will be available.

To send me a message, simply go to my page and click 'send a message' under my profile picture (as I am a site administrator you dont have to have added me as a friend to send me a message, but if you want to friend me please feel free to send me a friends request because I love making new friends )

Thnakyou to everyone for your support and understanding, it means alot to all of the management that you are behind us with the improvements we are making to our site

I noticed there are many groups here. Is there an easy way to find out for the members which groups currently are open for adoption? Like a list or something? Or do we have to do our own homework and apply for that?

To cleanse and clear is to grow,  with too much clutter we cannot see the wood for the trees. Learning to let go can be one of our biggest failings  because in  our hidden  fear we block the new from coming in. Let it flow, let it grow,  let  it become   free.     Many thanks  to all  x .K
