I really don't belive people understand the concept of healing the gulf. Why? Because, take Depew Illinois as an example, it is so polluted that kids cannot play in the dirt, people cannot grow a garden, there are places that bubble  on there own around lake Depew. The chemical company had to repaint peoples cars from the pollution, thats only one. Up stream Lasalle Illinois, the concrete company is still turning out so much dust tat its beond the scope of this comment to write it, then theres the chemical company thats on the super fund list. What dose this have to do with the Gulf? It all flows down stream in to the Illionis river to the Mississippi...... The oil spill is just a highly visable speck on the amount of wast that flows in to the Gulf. Its all one and so we must heal it all.

That is great news! A friend told me something today that made so much sense ... we were talking about doing classes locally - and rather than the focus of "us saving the planet" we are "respecting" her. She laughed... and said to me, what are WE saving the planet from? I replied --> US! The universe does know how to deal with this and who are "we" to think we are going to save the universe?

But, there is no doubt that united prayer, meditation and loving energy being sent to our beloved planet can possible speed her recovery up. Then, when we add being responsible / respectful we work with her-not against.

Thanks Kimberli for keeping us updated. It's great to have someone on the inside! Be safe!
Hugs! and mucho love

Federal Court Upholds Young Boy's Religious Rights

HOUSTON — A federal appeals court ruled Friday that a Texas school district cannot punish an American Indian kindergartner for wearing his hair in traditional braids to express his family's religious beliefs.

The ruling from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans upholds a Houston lower court ruling.

The 5-year-old boy's parents, Kenney Arocha and Michelle Betenbaugh, argued their son, identified in court papers as A.A., has a constitutional right to wear a hairstyle that conforms to his Native American religious beliefs. Arocha hasn't cut his hair in 11 years, believing the long braids have religious meaning. His son's hair has never been cut.

The boy wears his 13-inch-long hair in two braids outside his shirt.

The Needville Independent School District argued its grooming policy requires a boy's hair to not cover his ears or touch the top of his shirt collar. The policy is designed to teach proper hygiene, promote discipline and avoid disruptions in school, according to Roger Hepworth, a lawyer for the district.

School officials initially refused to exempt the boy but later allowed him to wear a single braid tucked into his shirt. His parents challenged that proposal.

Last year, a federal judge barred the district from disciplining the boy.

"We feel vindicated in our beliefs that no parents should be forced to choose between their religion and culture and a public education for their children," Arocha and Betenbaugh said in a news release. "As parents, we are relieved that our son can continue his education without being shamed for his beliefs."

A message left with the school district's adminstrative office Friday afternoon was not immediately returned.

During arguments before the appeals court, Judge E. Grady Jolly pressed Hepworth to explain why the district had prolonged the court challenge rather than allow the boy to wear his hairstyle of choice.

"It's not the (lower) court's job to decide how the policy should be," Hepworth had said. "It's the school district's, within constitutional limits."

Needville is about 45 miles southwest of Houston.

Officials try again to dock resupply vessel to space station

By the CNN Wire Staff
July 3, 2010

(CNN) -- Officials with the International Space Station have agreed to a second docking attempt for a wayward Russian supply craft scheduled for Sunday afternoon. The unmanned cargo spacecraft failed to dock as scheduled Friday.

The Progress cargo vessel, a resupply craft, was trying to dock with the space station when a technical problem occurred about 20 minutes before the scheduled docking time, NASA spokeswoman Lynette Madison said.

The vessel flew about two miles past the space station.

Six people aboard the space station -- three Americans and three Russians -- were not in danger, Madison said.

The craft launched Wednesday from the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan, the state-run RIA-Novosti news agency of Russia said.

It planned to deliver "fuel, oxygen, scientific equipment and video and photo equipment" to the space station along with food, water and personal items for crew members, the news agency said.

Progress resupply vehicles typically deliver supplies to the space station and haul away trash, burning up on reentry.
