(EDUCATION MANIFESTO) Empowerment - Putting Students First "Teacher"



Although I’m my students’ teacher, I’m no more important than they are.


Each student is his/her own unique experience, and who am I to try and control his/her unique experience? Who am I to think that a person is not capable? Instead, I offer them my support and assistance through guidance and tools.


Education = A Process


Learning = Understanding


The best way to solve a problem is to understand what the problem is all about.


Teach students about the problem, and have them solve on their own.


As a teacher, I do not give my students more than they can handle. I simply show them a glimpse of a capacity that they did not know existed, and strengthen their awareness of it.


As mentioned before, students are their own unique experience, and with that come their own beliefs and views on themselves and others. Are these beliefs and views limited, or limitless?


Attitude and action are everything in success.


Success = Progress


As a teacher, I focus on the attitude of each and every one of my students.


Action is entirely up to the student.


As a teacher, I will always have faith in my students; however, my faith will always be with my students - not on an outcome. 


Again, Success = Progress


Progress = Growth


There is potential everywhere, we just have to learn how to identify it.


It is a common case to see all the attention go to the high-achieving and rascal students. Where did all of the other students go?


When we can identify potential, we create the opportunity to help develop potential.


Development = Growth


Each day, I want each student to leave my class better than when they had entered it.


As a teacher, I’m responsible for each and EVERY student in my class. With that image in mind, can you imagine the possibilities that are out there?


Can you imagine if students are able to?


What if students were able to identify potential and create opportunities?


What if students were able to identify THEIR OWN potential and create opportunities?


What if students were able to identify the potential in OTHERS and create opportunities?


Growth = Success
