I am sure you had an exciting year 2013, and are looking forward to a great 2014!!
That is what life is all about, a continual movement, motion. Moving from the past to the future!! But did you watch, we missed something in the middle!! Yes! the present. That is what is most important for all of us. Imagine, you visit a place which is just stunning, you feel enraptured, awed, amazed, and then what happens, you become throughly integrated for a moment, your mind-body-spirit dance together in awe and amazement, that is what the PRESENT is all about.
I urge you to take a sheet of paper and pen down the most important events in 2013, the things that you enjoyed the most, the things that you achieved. Then pen down the more important ones, what are the things that happened which depressed you, and you were sad, and heartbroken, if there are any. Then don't forget to mention what, according to you, would be your resolution to overcome those negative feelings and emotions.
My final suggestion would be for all of you, to just practice Mindfulness in your day to day simple rituals of life, just pause, take deep breaths, collect and centre yourself, come to the present, feel the Presence and move on....
You will see that slowly you are able to find the confidence to overcome any negative bouts of emotions of anger and frustration, for every time they come to you, you just say Stop, pause, reflect and then take deep breaths of peace and joy, and bounce back to your energetic self.
